Restaurants and Breweries
Columbus has quickly established itself as a culinary Mecca of the Midwest. Not only is it home to the well-known Cameron Mitchell brand, but is also looked at as a great test market for new and unique cuisine and concepts. While there is always a different kind of food to access, there is also a brewery that can help you pair your food for a wonderful meal. The award-winning microbreweries within central Ohio have blossomed and made Columbus the premier place to grab a great drink after work and perhaps learn a thing or two about the wonderful world of beer.
There is never a dull moment in this wonderful city. We are blessed to have one of the best zoos in the world located right here in Dublin, Ohio. Open almost every day of the year, Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and it’s attached waterpark is the perfect way to spend the weekend with the family. For the rainy days, COSI is located in the heart of the city and is packed full of experiments and educational fun to keep the kids entertained while also catering to the parents’ curiosity. If you’re up for a little bit of a drive, Hocking Hills is only about an hour away. This nature-lovers dream is a great way to spend the weekend fully immersed in the great outdoors. Grab a cabin and some marshmallows and relax!
Obviously, Columbus is home to The Ohio State Buckeyes. Every football Saturday is electric and you can feel the scarlet and grey running through the veins of every fan on or off Ohio State’s campus. In addition to our beloved Buckeyes, Columbus is home to two professional teams. The Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL are located downtown in the Arena District and light up the winter nights. The Columbus Crew of the MLS are in the University district and have some of the loudest and most energetic games over the summer. While these 3 teams are more well known by loyal fans, Cleveland Indians minor league affiliate, The Columbus Clippers, also call this wonderful city home. Come sit in their award-winning ballpark for Dime-A-Dog night, family nights, and many other occasions while you cheer on the home team.
Columbus is always active. From the Ohio Theater to sporting events, and anything in between, there is always something to do. Large venues such as Express Live!, Greater Columbus Convention Center, and Nationwide Arena host world renowned performers all throughout the year. With semi-annual beer fests, USA vs. Mexico soccer, monthly “Art Gallery Hop”, Buckeye Country Superfest, and so much more, there is never a dull moment. Come let your inner socialite flourish in the “Biggest Small Town” you will find.
